Pure Pilates For Everyone
Jill is a life-long fitness enthusiast and a keen runner and cyclist. She has nearly 19 years experience in the fitness industry having first qualified as an RSA Exercise to Music Instructor in 1990. Over the years she has continued to deepen, develop and refine her knowledge and teaching skills by attending regular training courses and workshops. She has taught a variety of cardio based classes including Aerobics, Step, Boxercise and Body Conditioning and was one of the first Instructors to qualify as a specialist YMCA Ante and Post Natal Exercise Teacher in 1991.
Following a lower spinal disc injury in 2000 she was advised by her Osteopath to try Pilates. After several sessions of initially gentle, low level Pilates exercises, she began to feel the benefits as her back strengthened, pelvis realigned and the chronic lower back and sciatic pain disappeared.
Inspired by the very impressive recuperative and restorative benefits of the technique Jill qualified as a Pilates teacher in January 2002, following successful completion of The Pilates Institute fundamental matwork course, in London. In addition she has completed specialist back-care and postural training with the Institute.
In 2006 Jill undertook further training with Future Fit and completed the Pilates Progressions (matwork) courses at Intermediate and Advanced levels. Following successful completion of the Level 3 Industry Award in August, 2008, Jill currently holds the Level 3 Advanced Pilates teachers qualification and is on the Register Of Exercise Professionals (REPs).
